Battling with Anorexia or Bulimia? How Cognitive Hypnotherapy can free you from the eating disorder which may have been holding you back for many years.
When new clients contact me for help with anorexia or bulimia at my clinics in Harley Street, London or Henley on Thames, I start by explaining to them that their eating disorder is actually not about food. When we are struggling with an eating disorder the issue is not with the food itself, but how we are trying to utilise the food in order to help ourselves in some way.
I am very open with clients that I spent several years in my late teens and early twenties battling initially with anorexia and then subsequently bulimia. I understand how all-consuming that battle can be, how frightening and exhausting it can be to not know how to even start freeing yourself from the many ways an eating disorder can control and shape your life. I also know now how it feels to be free of an eating disorder but at one point I could not even imagine how that might feel, how I might be.
My approach is different because I use a range of proven techniques to gently but clearly identify and respond to the actual root causes of your eating disorder rather than just generically trying to work with your weight or purging.
‘After struggling with an eating disorder for the best part of ten years, and having tried all the therapy and counselling options my doctor provided, I thought that there was nothing left out there that could help me. A friend referred me to Fiona, and from the very first session she began teaching me techniques and different ways of thinking. For the first time, I felt I had a ‘way out’ of my eating disorder, and the methods Fiona taught me allowed me to take control of it."
"In the past I have found it hard to talk about certain things, but Fiona’s professionalism, openness and her calm approach made me feel really comfortable. I never felt shy or ashamed, because anything I had to say was met with understanding and honest questions and responses. The techniques Fi has taught me will stay with me for life, and if ever I feel myself going back into old ways I know that I have a set of skills I can use to help and care for myself."
"I would honestly recommend Fi to anybody, as I have no doubt that she could help many people just as she has helped me. I am so thankful to the friend who recommended her to me, as she has changed my life’
